Wiki terms and privacy
Privacy policy
Kuori Oy is the controller for the personal data described here. The Kuori wiki is the shared knowledge base for Kuori's products and services. Most of it is readable by anyone, and some pages are restricted to people who sign in.
Questions about data privacy go to your Kuori representative or to signage@kuori.tech.
Reading without an account
You do not need an account to read public pages, and we do not ask you to identify yourself. The web server records ordinary request logs while serving the site.
The site sets a session cookie, which is what lets it serve pages correctly and, once you have signed in, keeps you signed in. There are no analytics or advertising cookies and no third-party trackers.
Signing in
The wiki has no passwords of its own. Signing in uses your Kuori account through Kuori Auth, and what that service stores about you is in its own privacy policy:
https://wiki.kuori.com/books/kuori-auth-terms-and-privacy/page/privacy-policy
You cannot create an account yourself. An administrator creates it and links it to your Kuori identity first, so an identity the sign-in service authenticates but the wiki does not know is refused rather than quietly given access.
What the wiki stores about you
For people with an account:
- Your name and email address, taken from your Kuori identity, and your role in the wiki.
- Your preferences, such as the language you chose.
- What you write. Pages, revisions, uploaded images and files, and comments where they are enabled.
- Authorship and edit history. Every page records who created it and who last changed it, with the time, and keeps earlier revisions.
- An audit log of actions in the wiki, recording what was done, to what, by whom, when, and the IP address the request came from.
Your name is visible on pages you write
This is the part worth knowing before you write anything. Authorship is part of the content, not hidden metadata. On a public page, the name of the person who created or last updated it is visible to anyone reading that page, along with its revision history. On a restricted page, the same information is visible to everyone who can see the page.
If that is not appropriate for something you need to write, restrict the page, or ask an administrator before publishing rather than after.
How long we keep it
Your account exists as long as you need access to the wiki. When it is deleted, the pages you wrote stay, and their authorship points at a deleted user rather than at you.
The audit log is not deleted on a schedule. We can clear it, and we remove entries about a person when we act on an erasure request.
Database and file backups are deleted 30 days after they are taken, so a deleted record can survive in them until then, and no longer.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Erasure deletes your wiki account and removes your entries from the audit log. Content you wrote stays, because it is part of a shared knowledge base other people rely on, and its authorship no longer names you. Backups taken before the request hold the older state until they age out 30 days later.
Where we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interests, which is the audit log described above, you can object to that processing under Article 21 and ask us to explain why our interest overrides yours in your case.
Send any of these requests to signage@kuori.tech. If you are not satisfied with how we handle one, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In Finland that is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
Sharing
The wiki runs on Kuori's own infrastructure. Your data is not shared with anyone outside Kuori Oy for commercial purposes.
